Born in 1970. Maeda Yasuhiro joined the art club at Nishiawaji Kibou-no-ie (Higashiyodogawa, Osaka) when it was founded in 2003. He currently works on his paintings three times a month, with each session lasting about two hours.
His motifs are often drawn from photographs he has taken while traveling or postcards he has collected, with a particular focus on waterside landscapes. Through his distinctive brushwork using acrylic paint, the ever-shifting surfaces of water and shimmering natural light are broken into fragments, resulting in abstracted landscape paintings.
