Born in 1970. Around 2008, Yagata started making works in an art activity session at Izuminosato (Izumisano, Osaka).
Although the sessions only take place twice a month, with one hour for each session, he looks forward to the activity, which takes place in a small studio, where natural light comes in and he can see lush mountains through the windows.
He enjoys drawing living objects and often chooses foliage plants, seasonal vegetables and fruits for his subjects. After observing those still objects carefully, he makes drawings quickly with Sumi ink. He occasionally creates accents on his drawings by using bamboo sticks or adding color with watercolor paints.
